the positive news

yesterday, i had to know. i was 2 weeks delayed and things feel different. so i went to watson's on my lunch break, bought a pregnancy test and took it in the office. i just had to know.

2 red lines.

errr... what did the box say?
1 line, negative. 2 lines, positive.

is this for real? i can't wait to tell ron! no, it should be a surprise! but i can't wait!!!

i messaged ron telling him what had happened. he was thrilled. but i had to be 100% sure. we can't rely on pregancy tests.

after shift, ron and i had lunch then i went straight to makati med.

hi, doc... i think i'm pregnant. i took the pregnancy test and it gave me a positive result.
the doctor says that pregnancy test are usually reliable and she's 99% sure i am. but i want to be 100% sure, doc.

so off i go to the ultrasound. and there he was... a sac! does that mean i'm pregnant? the doctor confirmed.

so there i was, beaming. i'm having a baby. and we found out exactly one year after our wedding.

health alert

i need calcium?! i need folic acid?! what tha ---?

yeah, doctor prescribed me these junk ~ "to prepare you for the baby", she says. fine, fine. everyone knows i hate taking vitamins, medicine... unless they're slimming pills.

but, hey, since she put it that way, all i can do is resign to it.

fine. i'm willing to undergo tests, tests, and more tests just to make sure i'm prepared and healthy for the future baby. God knows how i abuse my body for the past [insert age here] years ~ puyat, crash diets, slimming pills, tons of food, and now ~ second hand smoke. *grumble* *grumble*

i'm now on a (not so strict) diet. i'm taking these 2 meds ~ folart and calvit, every-freaking-day. and i need to take them until i'm 3 months preggy. i need to exercise. lessen my coke intake. and avoid second hand smoke.

all these for a little macjorge.

7 month itch...

no little macjorges yet. but we're kinda, sorta, hoping for one soon.

i went to the ob today.... for the first time. and, being it my first time, i can't help but feel nervous. actually, nervous is an understatement to tell you honestly. i can't imagine some stranger looking 'down there'.

fortunately, the doctor was a nice woman. a little younger than mama, probably. she was gentle and she explained what was happening and why she had to do things.

as for the procedure... it was not as painful as i thought it would be, but it was very uncomfortable. i was looking out the window the whole time (oh did i mention that the bed was beside a huge window overlooking south super highway?!). that was the longest minute of my life!

anyways, i'm going back to asian hospital tomorrow to have all sorts of ultrasounds... to make sure i'm healthy in preparation for the little ones. *wink* *wink*

the macjorges are back!

so what has been going on the past couple of months? nothing and a lot.

in a nutshell: ron finally got his offer letter. he has been a regular sup (but he will always be a special sup to me *snicker*) for about 2 months now. 2 of my inaanaks celebrated their birthdays. we celebrated my birthday in potipot, zambales. went to galera with my h.s. friends. got the van dented by a f*cking idiot of a delivery van driver. got addicted to heroes and spent a whole weekend indoors just watching the 1st series. and just today, got my offer letter as a sup.

yay!

so what's instore for the next weeks? there's mama's birthday next weekend. ron's inaanaks 1st birthday. a pahabol beach outing in subic.

hopefully, i get more time to blog our married lives. but for now, let me just leave your with these updates and this...

drafts

while going through papa's pc at home the other day, i stumbled across his drafts of our wedding speech saved on a notepad. i discovered he has several versions... but i don't think none was given. why? because i think he had a little too much to drink that night!!! hahaha! so typical papa.

he started on several speeches, but failed to finish one. he probably thought they were too mushy, too sweet, no angas... in short, so "un-papa-ish".

needless to say, i can't help but cry while reading the drafts:

a. I have to say, this day has come around sooner that I was expecting. I don’t mean that kristine has rushed into this, of course! It’s just that one day you have a brand new daughter, and the next, she’s a young woman starting her own life.

b.Ladies and gentlemen, a wedding is a great day for many reasons. It’s a party. It’s a celebration. And it is an opportunity to say some things you do not find the chance to say every day. I would like to say them today. kristine and ron, you make a wonderful couple. And I am a proud father today.

c. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome. This is a very happy day for us. The old saying is exactly right - we haven’t lost a daughter, we’ve gained a son. And it’s a pleasure to welcome you and your family, ron. As much as you try not to interfere in their lives, you always hope, once your children are grown, that they’ll make the right choices and that things will go well for them. So we’re delighted kristine chose someone we like so much to be her partner.

d. Ladies and gentlemen,if you ever want to make time fly, have a daughter, and then see how long it seems to take for you to become a father- in-law. I could swear I’ve missed a decade somewhere!

e. Folks, Every father hopes that the young men his daughter meets will be: smart, reliable, sensible, considerate, and perhaps a little better than average around a poker table. So I’d have to say I'm a contented father in law today. It’s a pleasure to welcome you to the family, ron.

f. Ladies and gentlemen, I read a saying once that you travel all over the world in search of what you need, and you come home to find it. Well, I call a gathering of friends and family “home”. And I say we’re all home today. It’s an occasion like this that feeds our soul and warms our hearts, and so I want to thank you, everyone, for being here today, and I hope you have a wonderful time tonight. I know that weddings are always wonderful, but this one is special to us. We are two very happy parents today.

g. I knew, right from the beginning, that kristine would be special. And she is.
She's straightforward, she's down-to-earth and she's compassionate
And some people would say that in her father's eye, she can do no wrong. So what a tall order this father turns out to be for any pr...

I want you to know that you have all our love, and our blessing. Thank you for making us such proud and happy parents, and God bless you both. Ladies and Gentlemen, the bride and groom!

ron and kristine, there is much love in this room today. A wedding is not only about love for each other, but the love you share with all the people in your life. You are among friends who wish you all the happiness and love in the world. Good luck to you and God bless you both.

So God bless you both, may your marriage be long, happy and fruitful, and as you start your life together, I would like to offer this toast to help you on your way: ‘May your love be modern enough to survive the times and old-fashioned enough to last forever’

ron and kristine, there is much love in this room today.

A wedding is not only about love for each other, but the love you share with all the people in your life. You are among friends who wish you all the happiness and love in the world. Good luck to you and God bless you both.

B. I want you to know that you have all our love, and our blessing. Thank you for making us such proud and happy parents, and God bless you both. Ladies and Gentlemen, the bride and groom

just the same, his actual speech was touching nonetheless. i'm sooo thankful that he was still able to walk me down the aisle.

the forgotten monthsary

yesterday, ron surprised me by picking me up after my shift (which is a couple of hours before his). he just had his hair cut ~ the boyish cut that i adore. he also handed me a small chocolate cake.

*gasp*

we totally forgot our monthsary! we have so much in our minds right now that our 15th monthsary slipped our minds. see, we became a couple officially on december 31, 2005. and yeah, we still celebrate it even though we're married. Ü

i have such a sweet and thoughtful man.

.... teka, baka may kasalanan... hindi kaya?
